Based on the tried and tested fluidized bed technology, IBU-tec uses a reactor with a pulse-induced stationary fluidized bed.

The speciality is the coupling of the fluidized bed reactor with the pulsation reactor that proves beneficial. The advantages include increased mass and heat transfer in the fluidized bed reactor resulting from a pulsatory hot gas in the pulsation reactor.
The flexible design of the plant enables thermal handling of powders, suspensions and solutions. Temperatures in the reaction chamber range from 200 to 800 °C.
