The 2. generation of pulsation reactor for materials with precisely defined properties

The core of IBU-tec is the exclusive pulsation reactor technology platform. The newly developed pulsation reactor of the 2. generation allows improved and additional possibilities for the thermal treatment of materials. Individually generated product properties can be obtained with this innovative thermal process technology for synthesizing material agents.
The pulsation reactor technology allows the particle temperature by very high heating-up rates and strongly increased heat transfer rates from the hot gas flow thermal process and hence, controlled influence on the particle sizes, surface properties and phase compositions. 

The process engineering advantages lay on an individual adjustment of the following factor: 

Variable thermal load of the pulsation reactor
from approximately 50 KW to 500 KW

Adjustable frequencies
of the turbulent flue gas flow oscillation

Adjustable amplitudes
for adaption to the raw material charges, independent of the medium thermal load of the reactor

Improved heat and material and mass transfer rates, strongly increased heating-up rates

Oxidising rather oxygen-free, and reducing hot gas atmospheres

Material treatment with low temperatures
250 to 1,500 degree Celsius 

Increase of mean residence times
of the thermal material treatment

The pulsation reactor has proven itself very successfully for the production of very fine powders, derived from solutions or suspensions as well as one-step drying and sintering of moist powders.

  • Ceramic powders with small primary particles,
  • catalysts with high specific surfaces to maximize the catalytic efficiency,
  • tailor-made mixtures of oxides in the nanoscale as well as in the micrometer range,
  • coated or impregnated carriers for catalysts produced using suspensions or powders with moisture content,
  • additives for plastics and lacquers (UV-protection, scratch resistance, transparency).
